Thesis advisor: Chris Harvey
Rotation lab(s): Humsa Venkatesh, Chris Harvey, Naoshige Uchida
For me, home is: Beirut, Lebanon
Undergraduate degree(s): BS Neuroscience and Molecular Engineering
Research experience before PiN: I worked with Prof. Jason MacLean at the University of Chicago during most of my undergraduate education on identifying combinations of connectivity parameters in spiking neural networks that are critical to obtaining naturalistic activity and evaluating their role in learning. I also worked in the lab of Prof. Philippe Renaud at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) on a nano-fluidic approach to measuring dopamine concentrations in specific brain regions.
Current research interests: Neural circuits underlying decision-making and spatial navigation; interactions between circuits in different brain regions; reinforcement learning; developing methods of recording and manipulating neuronal activity.
