Research experience before PiN: Before coming to PiN, I worked with Jonathan Pillow at Princeton during my undergraduate studies. We used recurrent neural network models to study computational principles underlying context-dependent evidence accumulation and decision-making. Prior to that, I studied reward-motivated exploration behavior with Elizabeth Gould, also at Princeton. Before that, I studied the neuroprotective properties of various clinical anesthetics with Bruce MacIver at Stanford.
Current research interests: I am broadly interested in leveraging theoretical models to understand the circuit- and population-level computations that subserve flexible behaviors in the cognitive domain, and, in particular, the neural implementations of these computations. I am especially interested in studying computations that support learning, perceptual decision-making and memory.
Interests outside lab: Running, reading, making (and drinking) coffee, writing poetry and electronic music
