Research experience before PiN:In the past, I've worked on Parkinson's Disease research in Dr. Michael Lee's lab at the University of Minnesota. I subsequently studied the regulation of extracellular amyloid-beta by synaptic activity in Alzheimer's Disease as part of John Cirrito's lab at Washington University in St. Louis. At my alma mater, the University of Maryland in Baltimore County, I studied the genetic and physical interactions of the SMYD methyltransferase, Set6, as part of Dr. Erin Green’s lab.
Current research interests: I'm currently quite fascinated by memory, cellular processes that are regulated by synaptic activity, glial cell biology, and above all—ethologically relevant behaviors.
Interests outside lab / favorite hangouts: Hiking, rock climbing, reading, and more recently, digital painting. I don't quite have favorite hangouts in Boston yet, but I suspect that I will in the near future!
