Research experience before PiN: Undergraduate research studying the growth and pathogenesis of Listeria monocytogenes (Portnoy Lab, UC Berkeley). Research as a lab technician investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying neurovascular coupling, the rapid redirection of blood flow to active regions of the brain (Gu lab, Harvard Medical School).
