Ella is originally from England but grew up in France and Ohio. After completing a PhD in computational neuroscience at Columbia University, Ella joined PiN in May 2020 as a curriculum developer and lecturer for computational neuroscience. Since joining, Ella has spearheaded the redesign and launch of the Certificate in Computational Neuroscience, is involved with assessing and improving the quantitative training of PiN students, and has developed numerous courses and workshops. She has been heavily involved with an international online summer school on computational neuroscience, Neuromatch Academy, including serving as the CAO (Chief Academic Officer) for 2021. Ella is dedicated to making programming, math, and computational neuroscience accessible subjects to all scientists worldwide. Outside of work, she can be found playing with her dog, kayaking, eating good food, and playing board games.
