Thesis advisor: Gabriel Kreiman
Rotations: Wei-Chung Li, Gord Fishell, Gabriel Kreiman
For me, home is: San Diego, CA and Anchorage, AK
Undergraduate degree(s): BS Neurobiology
Research experience before PiN: I've spent the majority of my research experience in the Metherate lab at UC Irvine, where we seek to understand how nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) regulate sensory processing in rodent auditory cortex. I was involved in an anatomy project where I was in charge of imaging auditory cortex to study the distribution of alpha2 nAChRs in inhibitory interneurons and their coexpression with multiple protein types.
Current research interests: I'm really interested in cortical microcircuit development/function in sensory processing with a focus on the role of ABAergic interneurons!
Interests outside lab / favorite hangouts: I love traveling with a passion, and have the goal of traveling to at least one country of every letter of the alphabet. Seven letters left!
