For me, home is: Pine Bluff, AR

Prior degree(s): BA in Neuroscience, Rice University (2021)

Research experience before PiN: In undergrad, I explored the relationships between sustained attention performance and posterior parietal cortex EEG activity in mouse models of absence epilepsy. For 2 years as NIH postbac, I employed closed-loop optogenetics to characterize the role of prefrontal-hippocampal theta LFP coherence in mice performing a spatial working memory task. While as a MD-PhD student, I rotated in labs that study the neural mechanisms underlying anesthesia.

Current research interests: circuit/cognitive neuro, learning & memory, neural oscillations, consciousness, neuropsychiatric diseases

Interests outside lab: Listening to all things jazz/fusion/funk, exploring Boston music scene (jazz/global/classical), reading, running on Emerald Necklace, checking out museums and cafes, cooking curry
