For me, home is: Bolingbrook, IL
Prior degree(s): B.S in Biological Sciences from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA
Research experience before PiN: At Columbia University/New York Genome Center (Gamze Gursoy’s lab), I investigated how alternative splicing influences 3D genome architecture. I later joined the Harvard’s Program in Neuroscience Postbaccalaureate Program (PiNBAC) in Dr. John Assad’s lab. I used optogenetics and mouse behavior to study the neural circuits underlying voluntary movement. I found that motor cortex activity is not required for motor drive generation.
Current research interests: social behavior, neurodevelopment
Interests outside lab: Pilates, Yoga, Cinema, Content Creation
