**Research experience before PiN:** Undergraduate assistant for 3 years in a Drosophila lab studying cell migration. Worked as a technician post-grad for just under 3 years studying mechanosensation  
**Current research interests:** Activity-dependent gene transcription in the brain and how its regulation influences brain development   
**Interests outside lab: H**iking/backpacking, going to the beach
