**Prior degree(s):** B.S. in Biomedical Science and a minor in Aging Science at the University of South Florida

**Research experience before PiN:** I worked as a research technician at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in Dr. Lucas Cheadle’s lab studying how microglia interact with oligodendrocyte precursor cells during the process of synaptic engulfment. As an undergraduate, I conducted research at Johns Hopkins University in Dr. Peter Searson’s lab as a summer undergraduate researcher modeling tick-borne pathogens. At my home institution, I conducted research in Dr. Bradlee Heckmann’s lab, studying the role of microglia in familial Alzheimer’s Disease.

**Current research interests:** molecular neuroscience

**Interests outside lab:** Reading, traveling, and cooking
