#  USN receive Dean's Community Service Award

The [Underrepresented Scholars in Neuroscience](https://neuro.hms.harvard.edu/outreach/underrepresented-scholars-neuroscience) (USN), under the leadership of co-presidents Sal Brito and Busola Olukoya, receive the 2021 [Dean's Community Service Award](https://dicp.hms.harvard.edu/awards/deanscommunityserviceaward) for spearheading anti-racist initiatives in PiN and the HMS Department of Neurobiology. Their [call to action](/file_url/257) in June 2020 led to the formation of the [Departmental Committees on Diversity & Inclusion](https://www.neurodei.hms.harvard.edu/), hiring new faculty from URM backgrounds, adding current students to the admissions interview process, and other critical DEI initiatives.
