###    Neuroscience Post-Baccalaureate Track (PiNBAC)  expand\_more  

 

The Harvard Program in Neuroscience Post-Baccalaureate (PiNBAC) program is a training program for recent college graduates interested in applying to PhD programs in the neurosciences. ###    Morehouse & Harvard Partnership in Neuroscience Growth (MAHPING)  expand\_more  

 

 As part of a cross-institutional partnership in neuroscience research and education between HMS and the schools of the Atlanta University Center Consortium (Morehouse School of Medicine (MSM), Morehouse College, Spelman College, and Clark Atlanta University) PiN has partnered with the MSM B.S./M.S. program in Neuroscience to provide opportunities for student and faculty collaboration between our two institutions. A core component of this partnership is the visit of rising seniors in the B.S./M.S. program to Boston for 2-3 weeks during August to participate in quantitative training and professional development activities alongside incoming first-year PiN students. Members of PiN’s Underrepresented Scholars in Neuroscience (USN) group are integral in planning the visit, during which MSM students are introduced to Harvard Medical School faculty and research areas, become acquainted with Harvard PhD and MD programs, and meet members of the PiN and USN communities. ###    PiN Virtual Open Houses  expand\_more  

 

Every year in the fall, PiN hosts a series of virtual open house events with current students and faculty to give prospective students the opportunity to learn more about the program, the admissions process, and other neuroscience research opportunities across Harvard.



 

 

 



###    PiN Application Assistance Program  expand\_more  

The PiN student-run application assistance program (PiN AAP) aims to support applicants to PiN with the understanding that the path to graduate education can present unique challenges, including difficult, unclear, or hidden expectations, especially for individuals who have faced significant obstacles and disadvantages on their path to pursuing higher education.

PiN AAP will pair applicants with a current PiN student mentor who will provide feedback on application materials. Please note that because PiN AAP is a volunteer program initiated and run by students, space is limited, and not all applicants are guaranteed to be matched with a mentor. PiN AAP is in no way affiliated with the PiN admissions committee, and participation does not guarantee admission to any Harvard program.

PiN AAP especially encourages applications from students who have faced significant barriers, challenges, and obstacles in their pursuit of higher education, including first-gen and low-income individuals. Applications are open to all, and race, ethnicity, and national origin are not considered in reviewing applications.

 

 



###    BP ENDURE Graduate Recruitment Fair at SfN  expand\_more  

 

 The NIH Blueprint initiative “Enhancing Neuroscience Diversity through Undergraduate Research Education Experiences” (ENDURE) provides research opportunities for students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds, with the goal of preparing students to apply to and be successful in neuroscience PhD programs. Each year, PiN sends program representatives to the annual ENDURE meeting held in conjunction with the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) annual meeting to participate in the T32 Graduate Program Recruitment and Networking Fair. At both the recruitment fair and the ENDURE poster session held later during the SfN meeting, PiN faculty meet with ENDURE scholars to learn about their research and to encourage students to apply to PiN to pursue their graduate training. In addition to the ENDURE programming, PiN also participates in the Graduate Recruitment Fair held during the meeting.



 

 

 



###    ABRCMS & SACNAS Conferences  expand\_more  

PiN representatives and current students attend the ABRCMS and SACNAS conferences every year in the fall and look forward to meeting prospective students from diverse backgrounds. PiN representatives can be found at the HILS (Harvard Integrated Life Sciences) booth at the graduate school fairs.
